Mushrooms Stuffed With Brie

Image
I actually made this last night for a late evening with the girls.  The evening was full of laughter and great friends, the mushroom were meh.  I guess they are ok, but I had much higher hopes for two of my favorite things.  First of all, and I can't believe I am about to say this, but there was way too much garlic.  There was way too much topping in general.  I have made and eaten plenty of stuffed mushrooms and these were near the bottom of them all.  Sorry Pioneer woman, I have loved every other recipe of yours I have tried, and I enjoyed your post and laughed a lot, but I just didn't dig the mushrooms. Mushrooms Stuffed With Brie 1 Pkg White Button Mushrooms Washed And Stems Removed 4 Clove Garlic Minced 1/4 Cup Flat-leaf Parsley Chopped 4 whole (to 5) Green Onions Sliced (up To Middle Of Dark Green Part) Splash Of White Wine (optional) 1 Slice (wedge) Of Brie Cheese Preheat oven to 350 degrees Melt butter in large saucepan. Oven-Toasted Ham, Brie And Apple Sandwiches

Image
I liked this sandwich, but I did think that the apples were a bit superfluous.  There were bites I never noticed them, there were bites where they were overwhelming, and there were bites were perfect.  I know that is pretty useless critique, but it is the truth.  I would make it again, and I would probably include the apples.  I tried it with out the apples and only the mustard and it wasn't as good.  It was a nice and different sandwich, and because it is warm and filling, it makes a great fast dinner. Oven-Toasted Ham, Brie And Apple Sandwiches 1    large baguette (about 1 lb.),cut into 4 pieces 7 oz brie, most of the rind trimmed off and thinly 2    Tbs. unsalted butter 1    -1/2 medium Granny Smith apples, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch-thick 3/4 lb ham steak, thinly sliced on the diagonal 2    Tbs. whole-grain Dijon mustard 1    Tbs. honey 1 t  chopped fresh thyme Posit...

Maple Bacon Jam And Brie Panini

Image
Bear with me, the recipe is worth it!  A while back, I found this great site called Foodbuzz.  It was like facebook for food bloggers.  It helped us connect with each other, trade recipes and help promote others doing what we do.  Then Foodbuzz decided to take a perfectly great thing and ruin it.  It is now kind of a newsletter of what's hot right now. :/  Why am I ranting about this now, many months later?  Well, this recipe was from a fellow blogger and I noted the web address through Foodbuzz.  That page no longer exists and I can't find the recipe with a Google search.  I really tried and went through pages and pages of the search.  So, I can't give credit where credit is due and provide a link for the source of the recipe.  If through some quirk of fate, the person who posted this or someone who knows the person who posted this, reads this, PLEASE let me know so I can use a link to your recipe.  OK!  Blogger stuf...

Scallion-And-Brie-Stuffed Burgers

Image
These were just alright.  I love brie and the brie and burger was pretty good; the scallion paste was the best.  The burgers were a pain to make and really got the grill dirty because they leaked a bit.  I don't have a lot to say about it except the paste is good. Scallion-And-Brie-Stuffed Burgers 1 1/2 lb ground beef Salt and freshly ground  pepper 4    ounces Brie, rind removed, cheese cut into 4 slices 1/4 c  Spicy Scallion Paste (recipe follows) Vegetable oil,for brushing 1/4 c  mayonnaise 4    hamburger buns, split Tomato slices and lettuce for serving 1. Light a grill. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and form into eight 4-inch patties that are slightly thicker in the center. Top 4 of the patties with a slice of Brie and a scant tablespoon of the scallion paste. Top with the 4 remaining patties, pinching the edges to seal. 2. Brush the burgers with oil and grill over high heat, turning once or ...
